Each part of your K9 Cart—like the side bars and wheel blades—is now laser-etched with size reference markings. These markings match the custom measurements you provide during ordering. When your cart ships, it will already be pre-set to those measurements. All you need to do is attach the wheel blades and adjust the height based on the etched markings we provide.
Absolutely. Our support system is uniquely designed to allow pets to be able to urinate and defecate freely while in their cart.
Small pets like Corgis, Dachshunds, and Pugs can lay down with the front end while in our rear support wheelchairs because they are low enough to the ground to not put any pressure on the back. Larger breeds cannot lay down as they would put too much of an angle and strain on the back; however our cart design allows pets to be taken in and out of the cart in a matter of seconds.
We guarantee our wheelchairs to fit. Although they are custom built specifically for your pet they will be adjustable in all directions. We also evaluate everything carefully before starting production and will notify you if we have any concerns about your measurements. In the rare event you’re unable to adjust it to fit, we will send you what’s needed to make it fit.
We typically try to build and ship in 1-2 business days after we receive the completed order but this can vary on how busy we are. We recommend contacting us to verify our current lead time.
Yes, our wheelchairs are fully adjustable in height, length, width and even the support system can be adjusted to your pet’s individual needs. Every cart is built specifically for the individual pet and guaranteed to fit.
K9 Carts stands apart because we are the only company with a background in orthopedic medicine. Our carts were designed with decades of research in the medical field and our professional staff are here to help you. Buying your wheelchair from K9 Carts ensures your medical device for your pet is built and tested from a medically based company.
We offer shipping methods via FedEx and through the Post Office. Our wheelchairs ship from our shop in Florida. Ground shipping takes 2-6 business days, depending on where we ship to. Priority Mail usually takes 2-3 business days. If you need the wheelchair by a certain day we recommend contacting us directly so we can help assist with choosing the best method.
We have a comprehensive warranty for one year on the entire cart with any part replaced if needed. We also offer a lifetime warranty on the frame against any defects. This only extends to carts purchased directly through K9 Carts and their authorized dealers. We do not offer replacements or refunds for products acquired secondhand, as outlined in our policy. Purchase receipt required.
We offer a 15 day trial period for a 70% refund which is plenty of time to test the cart and send us pictures for evaluation. It’s extremely rare for a pet to reject their K9 Cart unless it’s improperly fit, they’re in pain, have no desire to be active, or weakness on their forelimbs in which case front support can be added. We always recommend doing our towel test before ordering a wheelchair as this will usually give you a good indication of how they will do in our rear support cart.
Yes. We recommend contacting us directly to find out our current build time. We can also help with special Saturday delivery on packages that are shipped on a Friday.
Yes, our front support kit can be added at any time down the road with no additional measurements needed.
For paralyzed pets that have no use of their rear legs, foot slings can be purchased separately to hold the back legs up if needed. Every part needed for your cart is included in the box.
Some pets can handle going down a step or two without having any issues as long as they have strong forelimb strength. To get up steps, you simply grab the back of the cart to help lift the wheels over the step. We recommend building a ramp for 3 steps or more.

It’s worth the extra cost

We tried two different wheelchairs before I found K9 Carts. I finally found someone to make a custom cart. We have a 16 year old Dachshund who lost the use of her back legs due to Cushing’s disease and adrenal tumors pressing on her spine. She is still spunky and has good quality of life. This cart works so much better than the others because it fits her long body. She gets around pretty well considering her age. The customer service at K9 Carts is wonderful plus they are made in the USA. I am anxious to try her in it outside after the snow melts.

Compassionate team

I had an excellent experience with K9 Carts during an incredibly difficult time. They custom-made a wheelchair for my dog and shipped it out very quickly—within just a handful of business days. Unfortunately, my dog’s condition turned out to be more serious than a sudden loss of mobility, and he passed away before the cart could arrive.

The team at K9 Carts showed genuine compassion and kindness throughout the process. They helped me recover part of the cost and sent their deepest condolences, and it truly felt like they were personally affected by the loss of my dog, especially given how sudden it was and how young he was. Their empathy meant more to me than I can easily put into words.

They were wonderful to work with, and I’m only sorry that my dog never got the chance to run around in his new cart—he would have been the cutest. He would have loved it. I’m very grateful for the care, professionalism, and humanity shown by the K9 Carts team, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering a mobility solution for their pet. 💙

Casper has wheels!

My French bulldog, Casper, is getting used to his new wheels. He can move along well on everything except the hardwood, but we are getting runners so he can move about the house better.
